“Well it appears that he does have a talent for the unusual and the different when it comes to making his boards”
About Us
A Cut Above, End Grain Chopping Boards.
This retirement project started when Larry’s wife asked him to make her an end grain board for her birthday.
Larry has retired from his life long job of flooring. He built himself a very good workshop with help from friends, in which he did a lot of wood work towards the flooring business.
This then seemed to be a good place to start his retirement project, by making hardwood chopping boards. It’s also very helpful for him to be close to his wife, Liz, as she is a carer for her elderly Mum and sometimes Larry helps out.
Well it appears that he does have a talent for the unusual and the different when it comes to making his boards, or if you prefer to call some of his pieces wall art!
We source most of our wood from a local timber merchants and the type of wood we often use are:
Ash, Beech, Cheery, Iroko, Maple, Oak, Purple Heart, Sycamore, Walnut, Bamboo, Elm, Mahogany, Ovangkol, Padauk, Sepele , Teak and Wenge.
No colour is added, it is just the natural colours of the wood.
